| Gender is not something many people would expect to be an issue for someone seeking help at a women's shelter.
But it could be, if your gender is questioned.
The issue of transsexual women receiving shelter and other support services was a topic of discussion Thursday during a workshop entitled, "Creating Inclusive Spaces for all Women," organized by the Chatham-Kent Women's Centre Outreach Program.
Joelle Laramee, vice-president and spokeswoman for the Canadian Organisation of Internationale des Intersexués, based in Montreal, was one of the panel speakers.
